Zumaya when he was drafted in the 11th round was overworked in his Senior year and was down to 87-88 after being in the 93-94 early on and his stock dropped. Of course, he got the rest after the HS season ended and his velocity got up to 95-96.

Verlander was a top-5 first round pick, but they cleaned up his mechanics (he had problems with his follow-through). Bonderman was a first round pick of the A's who came over in the Jeff Weaver three-way trade.

I'm not exactly sure what the hell he was trying to say. He wants a baseball player? And what does Moneyball say you should get, a microwave?
