In honor of Marmol's HR, here's a picture of another HR ball he hit in West Tenn, from the Zen Garden at Pringles Park. (it's the zen garden for opposing team's pitchers and has a section where HR balls go to rest in peace).

If Bynum reaches base twice against you, it's time to reevaluate your worth to society

I was going to say Marmol hitting a HR is worse, but he was a position prospect for like 3 years before moving to the mound, and had a 648 OPS in the minors (albeit with only 1 HR). So yeah, allowing Bynum to reach base twice is rock bottom.

Two teams this year have allowed him to reach 3 times in a game :D

this can't possibly be true

Which two? Split squad games between the Cubs don't count.

I guess the Pirates figure that even a loser like Chacon can get through Pagan, Moore, Blanco and Cedeno

That's a pretty good bet.

On the other hand, they might really want to lose this game, and figure the best way to do so is to pitch Chacon as long as possible.

Actually, seriously though, Bynum has been pretty good since May the 8th (of course, he had a month and a half of injury time in there also).

.278/.321/481-doesn't make me want to jump up and down, but he certainly hasn't been terrible for most of the season.

Scott Moore continues to impress. I think he could be a really good player in terms of spelling D-Lee and Aramis next year... perhaps the corner outfielders too.

the Indians and the Cardinals-one game he was 3 for 4, the other he was 2 for 4 with a walk.

hahhahahaha how do we lose to this team so often, look at their defense!

their defense? Look at their starter! Lets two guys hit their first big-league homer off him, one of those guys was a pitcher. And, of course, letting Bynum get on base twice.

That's if there is a Aramis next year....

I'm talking optimistically, here. Though in all honesty, I don't see Aramis leaving.

We'll know soon enough.
