Too bad there are not enough fans in the bleachers to give the outfield the full litter treatment it deserves.

yikes. It's not Wrigley Field's fault the team sucks.

Hey, I'm not blaming them.

Cubs lose!

Last place is ours!!

Its amazing how far one team can fall in 3 short years.

But but but but the Astros and Marlins! They were horrible and made roaring comebacks!!!

The Cubs will do the same, you just watch!

ha ha, way to be late on that one Dusty

Did he do it after Torres threw the first pitch?

Yep, he made the move on 1-0

Brenly - "I'm not sure if maybe Buck Coats wasn't ready? Or maybe they were just caught by surprise...?"

Caught by surprise that Hank got a hit?

On the audio feed, I can overhear people in the press box talking about Kansas City and the Cubs' chances of getting the first pick in the draft.

Some guy sarcastically yells out, "We can pay $15 million dollars for an unproven 18 year old!"

Tsk, tsk...the cynicism.

In honor of residing in last place, maybe we should cancel the game threads and just have a moan and groan category.

Oooh but there's one more game left in the series. We gotta stay in it for the sweep.

They may be bad right now or they may just plain suck period, but at least it seems the players still do care and get upset at themselves when they do not perform well.....

Hopefully, a new manager and some new additions on the roster will help whip this sorry group into shape for '07.

The first step would be a great manager and a good coaching staff. That could help immensly. I'm hoping that's what Jim does. Along with a couple top trades/signings ofcourse.

This is the same GM who thought Dusty was the "right man" for the job after 2002. So, right now I have no confidence in Hendry's choice of who will be "the right man."

Haha, that was a complete and utter joke when people were using them as examples and how were going to turn the season around.
