No, they'll female the playoffs.

Hey now, I think I deserve kudos for only one typo when I did that before 8 am on a three-day weekend!

Daytona won game one of their doubleheader as Mark Holliman continued the trend of pitchers finishing strong in the minors: 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K. Ryan Harvey went 1 for 3 with a BB and a K. Jeremy Williams hit his second HR of the season.

Game 2 - Daytona's last game of the season - is about to get started.

Randy Wells is starting for Iowa. Iowa jumps ahead 1-0 in the first thanks to a Pie triple and an EPatt sac fly. Nashville plays at 6 pm CT.

Bobby Brownlie is starting for West Tenn. They're up 1-0 in the third inning.

Iowa keeps their playoff hopes alive with a 7-4 win! Wells earned the win. Here's his final line: 6 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB's, 5 K's. Rapada pitched a scoreless 7th. Marmol struggled as he gave up 3 runs and 4 hits in the 8th. Ligtenberg earned the save as he had a perfect 9th. Felix went 2/3 with a homer and a triple, 1 RBI, 2 walks, and 2 runs scored. EPatt was 1/4 with 2 RBI's. Scott Moore went 1/4 with a run scored. Deardorff also homered.

Jaxx win 4-1. Brownlie pitched 4 scoreless, allowing 3 hits, 4 walks, and struck out 3. Atlee got the win as he pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, walked none, and struck out one. Blevins got the save as he pitched the 8th and 9th, allowing only 2 hits and struck out 2. Lewis was 3/4 with two doubles, an RBI, a SB, and 2 runs scored. Carlos Rojas was 2/4; Miguel Negron, and Albenis Machado were 1/4. Chris Walker, Brandon Sing, and Aron Weston were each 1/3.

Daytona scored 2 in the top half of the 7th in game 2 of the doubleheader, but lost 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th. Carlos Perez took the loss. Matt Craig went 2/3 with a double, an RBI, and a walk.

I was just checking Felix's post ASB numbers, and noticed his base running. That's always been one of the knocks on him is his base running, could he have turned the corner?

There was an article about how Vince Coleman(at least I'm pretty sure it was Coleman) came to work with Iowa and how he had really turned around his basestealing since.

Very nice to see. He's always had great speed, but not the baserunner skills to take advantage of it.

Peoria get rained out? I left after the 7th and it was about to come down pretty good in Beloit.

Let me say that I'm disappointed in the posters in the area, who did not make it to Beloit. :)

Yeah, the game was called in the 8th. Peoria won 4-2.

If I lived anywhere nearby, I'd check out the Chiefs. :) For now, I stick to Nick Adenhart and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
