What's wrong with Timmons? I can't stand umps who have to try to take things into their own hands.

Didn't see it...what happened?

Brady Clark didn't agree with a strike call the home plate ump made in the first inning, and steps out of the box for a few seconds. A few pitches later Clark grounds out to SS. Timmons, the first base ump, yells at Clark as Clark runs down the line after being called out. He starts yelling at Clark and then Clark gets in Timmons' face. According to the Brewers 1st base coach, Timmons was telling Clark to get in the box and to not act like that again (in reference to the earlier strike call).

Then a few innings later, a Brewer (can't remember who) was called out on a close play at first (replays showed he was safe), and the Brewer slammed his helmet down. Timmons automatically tossed him for slamming his helmet.

Not only did Timmons yell at Clark, he started walking up on him too as if to instigate.

And the second Brewer was Jeff Cirillo.

reminds me of an ump a couple weeks ago throwing a Dodger (rafael furcal possibly?) out of a game for slamming his helmet, when the player was obviously out and knew it and was simply frustrated with himself for swinging at a bad pitch...too many umpires have an ego and always think theyre being shown up

Who was the ump who followed Sosa back to the dugout and tossed him for muttering?

Sounds like grandstanding. It's never good when umpires are the story.

There's an easy way to put an end to the aggressive, provocative actions by umpires - suspend them. Of course, MLB has no cohones so it won't happen, but this isn't a difficult problem to solve.

An embarassing display by Timmons. For some reason, it reminded me of the really small guys who buy really big trucks.

Hey..... I'm not so small !!!

That was Lugo, not Furcal.

And yeah, those freaking umpires can't let their emotions get in the way of calling a fair game. Anybody who does should be replaced immediately. How much pull does the umpire union have with the MLB?

Angel Hernandez, Bruce Froeming, Eric Gregg, Timmons, CB Bucknor, the fact that I know these umpires names, is a disturbing trend for baseball. Umpires need to be unknown neutral parties in games, but when you know certain umpire names, then that is not a good sign. Some of these umpires think they are part of the game. And to a certain degree, but these umpires need to know that fans do not come to the game, to see how impressive of a strike call they have, they come to see the ballplayers. These umpires need to sit-down, shut-up up, and grow thicker skin. Not everything a player does, shows them up.

A good ump is an ump who you don't even notice he's there.

I was saying the same thing during the World Cup.

Yeah, unfortunately it was impossible to not notice just about all of the refs during the World Cup.

Froemming, Gregg, Timmons, and Bucknor are all great umpires....

...when compared to Angel Hernandez. He's got to be THE worst official in sports, professional and amateur. He's the posterboy for what is wrong with baseball and the (to loosly quote Truffle) cohone-less commissioners office.
