FC Dallas just became the first American based team to ever win on Mexican soil. Beat Pumas 1-0 in Mexico City in CCL action.

Really damn impressive, UNAM has yet to lose in the Mexican league yet this season too, though its only 5 games in. I'm assuming the match was played at Azteca?

No. It was some smaller stadium.

Do the fans not have piss bags there?

My old college roommate's dad played for them, and yes they have piss bags.

Dempsey has scored twice in 5 minutes against something called Dnipro.

Dnjepopetrovsk (or however the hell you spell that) is actually a well established side in European cup soccer - Belgian teams have met them a number of times.

Just in case there are a few Arsenal fans who don't hate Emmanuel Adebayor yet, he's doing his best to make sure they dislike him also. Apparently he's close to a deal with Tottenham.

This season is going to suck enough to not even think about him. I might hate Wenger more before it's all over.

I'm ready for the Dutch and German seasons. I've never really had an allegiance to any German teams other than cheering against Bayern.

Phil Schoen tweeted that Arsenal are looking at Tim Ream. Now, obviously I think Tim Ream has a lot of potential and I think in 3-4 years he'll maybe be at that level, but in the situation the Arsenal are in, that's the kind of player they're looking at? They need Schweinstager, Negredo and Jagielka; players like that.

Apparently Arsenal made a low seven figure bid but NY turned them down.

Edit -apparently they've made two bids so they want him. As I post this, he gets worked by Revs DP Milton Corraglio. He needs to bulk up, play more aggressive. His left foot is elite for a CB, so if he ever gets some balls, he could be special. He's very much like Dempsey at that age/development stage.

That's the kind of TJ Maxx bargin shopping he loves. Sounded Jagielka might be an option after the Nasri selling. Of course they need like 5 players after that.

I forgot about NYRB beating Arsenal a couple of weeks ago at the Emirates.

I agree with you. Tim Ream, as much as I think he's a long term answer, isn't remotely ready for the Prem. Can you imagine him trying to track Luis Suarez or check Wayne Rooney? Yeesh. Omar Gonzalez would be a better buy from MLS in central defense as he's at least physical enough for the EPL and has improved his distribution out of the back immensely.

If he really wants to bargain shop for Americans that fill needs they have, he should look at Josh Gatt and Mix.

Also, obligatory "Clint Dempsey would fit in there nicely" post.

Love the Cascadia games...Eric Hassli was a fantastic buy for MLS.

Arsenal has a proverbial cloud hanging over them like Liverpool did last year before the team was sold/Dalglish was hired. I don't think it's going to lift until Wenger shells out some cash for first-teamers. Because, even with Nasri, that team is headed for Europa.

Vancouver's stadium looks insane.

Eto'o to Anzji Machatsjkala is reported as a done deal.

His salary there will be a lot more than what Christiano Ronaldo is making at Real.

Hope Solo is taking it all off! The goalie and most well-known player from this summer's inspirational US Women's World Cup soccer team will be appearing in ESPN The Magazine's annual "Body Issue." The special issue is billed as a celebration of the athletic physique... but it's basically a bunch of really buff athletes, both male and female, posing nude (tastefully!). Solo sent out this Tweet this week: "Being naked outside is very liberating."

So no wins for US teams in Mexico until a week ago and now we've got two in the span of six days. That's awesome.

Hopefully the USMNT can follow suit.

That was a brilliant display of how to park a bus. Sigi is a smart coach. Got the goal on the counter and then bunker. Alex Morgan's boyfriend is kind of a hack too. That dude will get stuck in. Not great with anything else.
