I think Liverpool is going to handle Chelsea today, maybe 2-0, and Barcelona will beat Bayern 3-1 (with Barcelona winning the tie fairly easily). I think Liverpool will also end up going through.

And as I type this Gerrard gets the opener for Liverpool.

It was actually Torres, and Messi puts Barcelona up one nothing early as well.

I knew that. Not sure why I typed Gerrard.

Liverpool apparently forgot how to defend corner kicks.

Barring drastic change in the Liverpool-Chelsea match today, it's looking like a Barcelona-Chelsea semifinal. If this stands, Liverpool is going to have to win 3-0 at Stamford Bridge next week and I can't see that happening.

i am absolutely stunned at the result of today's match at anfield. i definitely did not see chelsea winning this game much less thrashing liverpool as it sounds like they did.

btw, its getting hard and hard to avoid soccer scores these days. i was hoping to make it home and watch the dvr without finding. oh well, at least it was a good spoiler. i'll still enjoy watch the scousers get romped in front of the kop.

LOL. Barca 4-0 Bayern

put wolf on suicide watch.

Chelsea balanced it out.

Also, with Barry Ferguson out of the picture, Mo Edu has a starting spot at Rangers if he can earn it. He scored a goal toady. So far, so good.

I'm still not sold.

Although did you read about why Ferguson is out there? Hilarious.

Porto pantsed United today. For all the offensive firepower Sir Alex has sitting around, they sure are really thin at central defense. Porto have never lost to an English team at home, either.

No. Doubt. Porto could've won this 3-1 easily if not for Van der Sar playing very well and Rooney's gifted goal.

I have faith in Evans as the back-up central defender behind Rio and Vidic even though he was completely at fault for Porto's first. However, John O'Shea is just not United quality. With as many injuries/suspensions in the defense and the amount of games to be played in 4 competitions O'Shea has wound up playing a majority of the games. Not saying he's the only liability at the moment but he isn't helping.

I can easily see Porto going through next Wednesday. Such a change from United's dramatic win against Villa this past Sunday.

btw, Adebayor's goal was outstanding. ESPN's coverage of it, not so much. I'm warming to FSC coverage next season. Of course suffering through Tommy Smyth every game is not helping.

Definitely. That's a tie where I have no idea what's going to happen in the second leg.

I'd put Arsenal as the favorite in the other tie, though Villafreal could certainly go through.

But as far as the Man U-Porto game goes, I could see Man U with that firepower, winning the game but I could also see Porto winning outright if Man U plays as poorly as it did in the first leg. Either way, it should be a very entertaining game.

Brilliant first goal by Fabio Aurelio for Liverpool. Completely fooled Cech.

And now it's 2-0 Liverpool as they score on a penalty kick.

The final 62 minutes should be great.

This thing is just about done now. Alex with a rocket free kick ties it 2-2. Liverpool needs two more.

On the plus side, no extra time today.

4-3 LIVERPOOL WITH 8 MINUTES LEFT!

This is amazing. Absolutely ridiculous.
