God dammit, Bob.

It's [expletive] CUBA.

Really? Cuba? You're so afraid of Cuba you can't call up Jozy Altidore, Freddy Adu or Kenny Cooper?

Let me make this really easy for you.

Howard

Wynne Gooch Boca Pearce

Bradley

Landon Dempsey Adu Beasley

Altidore

Dumbass.

Check out this quote from Ives:

As for Altidore, there may be more to his exclusion than meets the eye. I have heard some rumblings about why he was left off that I need to do some more digging on. Just don't be surprised if Altidore is in the national team wilderness for a while.

I have no idea what that is about, but I don't like it.

Btw, there is no word filter for c u next tuesday, fyi.

If Ives is implying that Bradley or Nowak has some sort of problem with Jozy than this is/should be the last [expletive] straw.

I hope Cuba beats us so they get fired.

I was listening to the Guardian podcast and apparently Gooch was "immense" marking and shutting down Torres all game.

And on that note...

Fresh from a showcase performance in defeat against Champions League qualifying foe Liverpool, Standard Liège backline sheriff Oguchi Onyewu has been hit with three fast transfer offers and additional new interest.

According to his agent, the 26-year old has received official overtures from glamour clubs in France and Spain, as well as a bid from the Premiership, less than 24 hours after his team's heartbreaking 1-0 loss at Anfield.

"We've been talking with a La Liga club for 10 days," Lyle Yorks told Soccer365, adding later, "It's a big club. I can say that."

"After last night's game, we had discussions with a Premier League club and one of the top teams in France."

Slightly complicating matters is a new rule for next season that allows the Belgian champ to move straight to the group stage, whereas Standard were forced to qualify this year.

"The problem is all about his price," said Yorks. "Keeping Gooch has become important to Standard, so his price is higher than it normally would be for a player in the last year of his contract."

Having dropped from Champions League competition to the UEFA Cup, Onyewu and Les Rouches return to league action with a Sunday visit to Roeselare - which falls a day before Monday's summer transfer deadline.

And the Olympics. Man, it seems like that was ages ago, but it was only a few weeks. I honestly don’t want to talk about. It was pretty disappointing for me as a whole. O.K., I guess I have to say something! Everyone was disappointed, even now when I think or talk about it I get a sour taste in my mouth. We had so many good players on the team and were so close to getting out of the first round. It’s hard to take and I don’t like to talk about it.

I know there were some things written about me being injured … I don’t know where that came from because I wasn’t injured. Maybe my left ankle is not the greatest, but I was more than fine to play. How much I played was really a coach’s decision. I had a game plan for myself, but I guess it wasn’t the same as the coach’s plan. My playing had nothing to do with my ankle, it was just how the coach made the lineup.

Later in the blog it goes on to say he isn't going to be loaned out anytime soon.

Oh. My. God. I hate the USSF.

This isn't AYSO where you have to behave if you want your orange slice.

Christ on crutches.

A striker who will probably be starting for the la liga runners up and will be on the pitch at old trafford for a European night has no business being on the field for meaningful games against the likes of Cuba or Trinidad & Tobago!

I don't get it at all, and when you combine this with the idiotic "Adu needs to be a good person" stuff Bradley spouted a few months back it makes my pockets hurt.

EDIT:

We now have 4 young attacking players pissed off at our coaches and our system. Cooper's been pissed off and biting his tougne, Davies took some veiled shots at Nowak, Adu's issues with both BB and PN are well documented, and now Jozy.

Looks like Gooch is movin' on, since he apparently didn't play for Standard today. PSG is the current rumor.

Gooch played the full 90 minutes of the 1-1 draw at Roeselare today.

Things got crazy today in the Premier League. Man City was bought by Abu Dabhi group and put in huge bids for Berbatov, Robinho, and David Villa. They are supposedly going to have a huge list in January of players they want to buy.

Robinho to city. This new ownership group is upsetting Roman's apple cart and if Chelsea and City are competing head-to-head on the table and in the transfer window this January, things could get out of hand with transfer values.

Besides the fact that Robinho is going to be suspect in the Premiership and certainly isn't worth the pship's record transfer fee, Mark Hughes certainly seems vindicated. That job was looking like a huge mistake this time yesterday.

City's new owners have come out and said that they are going to make a huge bid for Ronaldo, as well as Torres and Fabergas.

That's just posturing trying to shake up the Premiership establishment. The window is closed until January and if they are going to import superstar talent, it'll be from outside the pship.

Arsenal and Man Utd could be the odd men out in 5 or so years if they don't pony up and get themselves an oligarch or sheik. 5 years from now you'll have the spending might of QPR in the premiership as well. This is bad news for the gooners and utd.
