Heard the genius Steve Phillips on the Tigers/Red Sox game saying Neifi would be a good replacement for the injured Placido Polanco............!!!!!!!!! No way we get that lucky.

please, can we make it happen. Neifi could be their backup catcher too! Just like he was playing around in Denver.

Niefi is a good fit for any team not managed by Dusty Baker... where he will be used correctly.. as a late inning defensive improvement.

I think Neifi Perez is a good fit for every team not called the Chicago Cubs.

While he'd be a better fit for the Cardinals than anyone else, I still agree...

There is no way that Neifi passed through waivers without being claimed. Who wouldn't want a guy that can catch the ball at a bargain basement price. :^o

Take another rookie-ball pitcher like you did for Walker, Jim. Let's get this thing done and over with before you start thinking too much about it.

That would make me so happy....I'd have no words.

Hendry wants the Tigers top 4 prospects and unlike with the Dodgers this time he's going to get them!

dont you see Hendry using something said by one of the worst GMs ever as justification for signing Neifi to that bad contract.

When asked a ? about how the A's have all their players have to get at least 1 walk in every 10 ABs before moving up in their system, Hendrys response was something like "John Kruk says the A's need another bat"

Don't be greedy!

I think there may be a chance of this trading happening, now that Theriot has shown signs of life.

Neifi would be a great fit for Detroit. He plays multiple positions, he hustles, he bunts, he makes contact, he hits better than his statistics indicate, he keeps the clubhouse loose, and if one of Detroit's starting infielders goes down, Neifi can come in and save the team like he did the Cubs. Neifi is one of those rare players who's contributions go beyond the stat line.

Neifi certainly will be missed, but a player of his talents can only be truly appreciated on a winning ballclub.
