Z gets the last out in the 8th but is too exhausted to point his finger to the sky.

If I saw Dusty at a restaurant, I would punch him in the face and then tell Darren what a loser his father is.

I know.....Dusty is trying to have Z throw his arm off so that he can start 5 rookie pitchers.....and then no one can say he doesn't play young guys!

CUBS are 47-4 when they lead after 8 innings

Go CUBS !!

How is that possible when Dempster has blow what 6 saves?

Did the Cubs get the lead in the top of the 9th at home 2 times that Demp blew it? I'm pretty sure we lost all 6 games he blew

A blown save is not necessarily a loss, is it ?

You know why Zambrano is still pitching?

Because Dusty is playing for next year....for himself.

This quote says it all:

I'm not getting fired...my contract's just expiring

Dusty doesn't want to be here, and won't unless JH throws money at him. So basically Dusty doesn't care if Zambrano throws 160 pitches to get the win, as long as it helps his W/L record to make him more appealing to other teams. Think about it...that is Dusty's PO

Hence why I said I was pretty sure we lost all 6 games he blew.

So if he blows a save in the 9th and we lose, thats a L when leading after 8 is it not? Or have I had a really long day and my brain is jumbled?

Nay doubt Z finishes this thing?

I do..I would be shocked if he came out in the 9th.

I would hope that would be too much even for Dusty to do. Maybe that's my natural optimism though.

That was actually a good situation for Ronny to run.

Pierre types should bat near the bottom of the order, where small ball is actually beneficial every now and then.

Livan "150 Pitches" Hernandez was #1 last year, right?

He would do that if his job was secure and he loved being the Cubs' manager, imo. He just doesn't recognize pitch counts and abuses pitchers arms no matter what the situation.

I'm not sure where he stands in terms of lists, but Jason Schmidt is up there too.
