Tyler Colvin is now 0 for his last 13 (with 3 BBs).

Russ Canzler breaks a 2-2 tie with his 8th HR of the year. Now Steve Clevenger gets an RBI single to score Alfred Joseph. Then DJ Lewis and Matt Canepa get a walk and an RBI single and in the bottom of the 6th, Boise leads it 5-2.

Huseby sighting in Mesa! He got the start going 2IP 1H 4/0 K/BB 0-1 GO-FO and only faced 6 batters. They're up 5-1 through 4 innings thanks to a 3 rbi Rundle double, and 2 doubles and 2 rbi for Parker.

Actually, it was a 2-RBI ground rule double in the 2nd for Rundle and he followed it up with an RBI single in the 4th. Rundle also has a walk and no strikeouts. Drew's BA is all the way up to .217. Cliff Andersen is 1 for 3 with a double and a strikeout.

Marco Carrillo relieved Huseby and gave up a solo HR through 3 innings of work. Three of Huseby's four strikeouts were of the swinging variety.

So the guy who got the hit was either picked off or doubled up on a fly ball?

Caught stealing to end the first.

In Daytona, apparently Veal's nickname is "The Real Deal." As in, Donnie "The Real Deal" Veal.

I personally like THE DON! much more.

WEAK.

"The Real Deal" lacks a touch...a certain mobster touch.

Hopefully when he gets to WT, Ron will know his true nickname.

Jaxx lose 8-7 in the bottom of the 11th.

I wonder if NC went to tonight's game, too.

I didn't go to this one. I may go to the game either Monday or Tuesday night. Since they have only this one series here this year I'd like to see a couple of games.

Jaxx now two games behind Chattanooga and four games behind Tennessee. They don't need to keep losing these extra innings games. :(

That's great news. Rundle seems to be figuring things out a bit, too.

Rundle's IsoD: .175

Andersen's IsoD: .091

I wouldn't worry so much about either of the HS OF draftees, especially considering they're in Mesa. Both seem to have a good grasp of the strike zone (despite their seemingly alarming K numbers). Both have surprising patience at the plate and I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both start improving on their contact rates.

In the second half of the year our top offensive prospects have really turned it up. Let's hope that Pie, Dopirak, and Harvey can all continue their hot streaks.

I've heard that the Daytona players only call Veal "The D-Train."

The guys on the talk show after the game were all calling him "The Real Deal."

I think Donnie needs his own nickname, let Dontrelle keep his.

By the way, with this game, Daytona broke their previous single-season attendance record.

Daytona Beach News-Journal[/url]"]"Everything was working tonight," Veal said. "Getting ahead in the count was key, I just tried to get ahead early with my fastball and then work off that."

Veal struck out seven, walked one and gave up four hits. His only earned run came when the Cubs failed to turn a potential inning-ending double play in the seventh.

That's pretty impressive considering how much season is left. Maybe because there haven't been any hurricanes rolling through?

They've probably had just as many rain outs without the hurricanes as they would've had with them this year it seems like though.
