Good for Maddux. I'm glad for him. I hope he pitches well for the Dodgers the rest of the year.

If Mad Dog throws a no hitter in his first game out of a Cubs uniform, I think I will go into a coma.

considering he never has thrown one, I agree. but hey, look on the bright side, we got Izturis

good for maddux....bottom line....he's not a good option at 5-6 million plus for next year. That said, I'm pleased with his results tonight. He pitched in the very first Cubs game I saw at Wrigley in the early '90's on the way to his first Cy Young award.

I know nobody will believe me, but I heard them announce the pitching lineups on the radio on the way home from work tonight, and honestly I found myself thinking "wouldn't it be just typical if Maddux went out there and tossed a no-hitter."

Good for Greg - I'd like to see a guy like him eventually leave the game of baseball on a relatively high note and I just don't think he would have had that as a Cub.

So they have been in a rain delay for a little while now. Here you have Maddux on a new team and it's a rain delay and he can't even talk to his teammates because it could disrupt the no hitter.

If he wins 3 more Cy Youngs, I'll be convinced.

When I read that I laughed. After thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

That's a shame. A freakin' rain delay ruins Maddux's night.

eh...I see the glass half full on this one. He'd likely have given up a hit if he had gone the distance. This way, a certain mystique will always be associated with this performance.
