From ESPN:

Ronny Cedeno is just 21-for-126 since June 15 but is 6-for-15 in his last four games, including a homer Sunday off Chris Carpenter. The reason? He's using both of his eyes to scout the ball. Instead of rolling his eyes to pick up the pitch, he's adjusted the angle of his head and it allows him to see the ball more clearly with both eyes.

Hope this makes a difference and gets him back up to an acceptable BA, even if his OBP won't ever be that good. He has looked much better the last few days.

As Harry might say, why didn't we have someone to notice that? :D

I'll be damned. You learn new jibberish every day.

I guess time will tell. Early returns look promising.

While I hope I'm wrong, I see Cedeno as Dunston without the power.

Without a change in management and coaching, I'm starting to think that will be the best-case scenario.

Basically, his right eye could not pick up the delivery but most likely could pick up much of the pitcher's upper body and had to shift (look more over the bridge of the nose) to pick up the release of the ball and that whatever thousandth of a second threw his timing off.

It's pretty simple to correct, if a RH batter closes his left eye, his head should be facing the pitcher enough to where his right eye can see the SS and then can focus his sights on the delievry and release w/out having to adjust his vision.

By VORP, Ronny Cedeno is the worst shortstop in baseball.

Notably, Barrett is the second-best catcher (behind super-human Joe Mauer).

He's still better than Cesar Izturis.

By a far far far far far far margin.

I don't know much about Izturas(sp) and I don't really care to. I think Ronnie Cedeno is going to be the real deal. The most important number (and it's been posted here before) is 23, as in year's old. He's still a pup who will grow into a very good major league shortstop. I just hope the fans at Wrigley will not jump all over him like they did with CPatt when things went bad and end up jeering him out of the organization. I really enjoy reading this board without posting much but it does seem to get a bit negative at times. We're suppose to be Cubs fans. I'll be the first to admit that it's been a lousy year but let's not give up on our young talent. We'll be ok.

Thanks
