"[expletive]" is a slur, plain and simple. He could have used countless other terms to demean his manhood that had nothing to do with sexual orientation.

First of all I didnt really pay much attention to the whole Ozzie thing (was on vacation), but if he said "Marrioti is a [expletive]" instead of gay, then that is a whole different thing. I was under the impression he said gay and I was arguing that saying something like that doesnt automaticly make you a biggot (its common slang nowdays), but like I said "[expletive]" is something completely different.

Referring to something as "gay" in the manner you referred to isn't common slang except with junior high kids. It is bigoted because it derives it's usuage from the implication that being gay is a negative. It's still offensive.

He called Mariotti a "f---ing [expletive]."

Wow, that is completely different then what I thought he said and obviously filled with hatred towards gay people.

I never said I still use it in that context, I did when I was like 14, but I was just pointing out that most people have said something like that in their life. Again this whole discussion was changed because I didnt understand the original context of what Ozzie said, which is very hateful. Anyways we should probably get back to talking baseball and leave these type of discussions for different boards.

Ozzie rips on Wrigley Field, which is understandable.

Yeah, he's really spoiled playing in that half-empty, historic, vibrant baseball mecca known as the Cell. Speaking of which, have I missed 2006's Mullet Night?

The Sox have sold more tickets thant he Cubs this season. The Sox had the 2nd most wins in the 90's and a World Series championship team playing in Sox Park.

Mullet night is on Friday actually. I've never been, but it sounds like a fun time.

I'm not going to troll, but if you want to rip on the Sox you need to find some better ways than that. I'm just here to talk baseball.

Fixed: I'm just here to talk baseball, make up facts, and get defensive when corrected on false stats.

Let's play write the post that SoxFan76 writes when he returns to his white sox board(probably WSI)

"LMFAO, I just came from northsidebaseball and those Billy Beane wannabes just rant in jealousy about Ozzie because Ozzie speaks the truth. They even defended that pillow biter Mariotti, and then of course went back to the old stupid Cubbie attendance argument. You have your attendance you frat boys, we have the RINGZ!!"

haha I'm sorry. I had the numbers all wrong. I'll be the first to admit it. No reason to be so hostile. Although I will say there's a difference between a sellout at Wrigley and Sox Park. All the tickets are sold at Wrigley, but that doesn't mean everyone shows up. Sox Park relies on about 5,000 walkups to sell out a game, so they usually are completely sold out (that is, when they do sell out).

But sorry guys, I'm done. I thought I'd give the real Cub fans a chance, and this is how I'm greeted. I tried to be nice but you've all backed up a lot of Cub fan stereotypes. I didn't even start this argument in the first place. I don't want to get nasty on a Cub fan board, because that's stupid.

And save the "you'll be missed" posts.

See you in the playoffs! Oh wait...

When you make repeated misstatements of fact on this board, you will always be greeted with what may appear to be hostility. Some folks just can't take being corrected. Oh well. And please, do not flatter yourself. You will not be missed in the least.

No need to be hostile Fred.

I'm sure he totally pwned everyone too, whatever the hell that means.

I'd like to know too. I know "owned". But why is it spelled with a "p".
