I was just kinda playing around. And Big Mac kinda clarified what he said yesterday by saying, yes, they helped, in that they kept him on the field. At the time, and perhaps I'm just parsing language, he may have interpreted the question as, Did those steroids help give you the skills necessary to hit home runs? And and he answered that question truthfully, at least in his own mind. It's not just Cubs fans harping on him for what he said. The national media is pounding him, too (case in point, the guys on the MLB Network immediately after the interview, save for Harold Reynolds). I'm just not sure what more McGwire can do, as far as admissions go. (So, yeah, I'm pretty much completely in agreement with NonProfitCow.)
