Inability to bring postition players up from the minor leagues that have value to the Cubs. Since 1965 the Cubs have only brought up 2 players that have become everyday players for the Cubs for more than 3 years. Dunston and Grace. Things like this makes you not believe in curses but bad decisions have a lot more to do with the Cubs failures

That's unbelievably pathetic.

The 1969 season is a season that truly chronicles a Cubs fans' pain and frustration. It's just overshadowed now because of the 2003 season.

Now compare the ones that played everyday for OTHER teams. Palmero, Dontrelle Willis............. there's others.................. who?

sort of the way the ball between Buckner's legs is the most famous error of all time, when only two years earlier a ball got through another firstbaseman's legs in the post season.

Ricky Nolasco, Sergio Mitre, Corey Patterson, Greg Maddux in the 90s, Steve Trachsel, Jose Molina, Kyle Farnsworth, Kyle Lohse, Jon Garland, Eric Hinske, and so on.

If you bring up Bartman in your speech w/o laying the vast majority of the blame on Gonzalez, I will be very, very upset.

Since 1965 we have produced 3 HOF that have spent the majority of their careers somewhere else. Joe Carter, Rafeal Palmero and Greg Maddux. We have produce 0 HOFers that have played for the Cubs.

Don't do it on the misery of being a Cub fan.

That's not right.

Why don't you do it on the history of the Cubs? The history of Wrigley....and Wrigleyville. The renovations to the stadium over the years, etc.

And you could do one on all the great broadcasters of the Cubs over the years.

Then you could do something on all the Cub hall of famers.

Don't give in to the temptation to call yourself "miserable." I still love being a Cub fan. I know they don't win often, but all in all I wouldn't change a thing. The current misery will pass, and believe me, when we do win? No fans feel the joy more than Cub fans.

That's my 2 cents, anyway. Do what you want to, of course.

Want to bet on Palmeiro ever being in the Hall of Fame? The Cubs have stolen at least one HOFer though and Sosa will be two if the 'roids don't keep him out.

just a few comments on your guys/girls posts...

1. gonzalez will be the main point of my bartman section

2. i kind of like the history idea of wrigley, i will have to think about that one

3. lastly to clear up my approach, i love being a cubs fan and i will never waver but i just wanted to talk about some of the major things that us fans have endurered through the years.

Pitchers weren't included in his original stat, otherwise Prior, Wood, Zambrano, etc... would be included. There really haven't been that many hitters in recent years who have left the Cubs and turned into a success. Hee Seop Choi, Bobby Hill, Kevin Orie, Brooks Kieschnick, Doug Glanville, etc...were all top Cubs prospects who never really amounted to anything. I looked at BA's top 100 list since 1990 and not one Cubs hitting prospect turned into anything. Pretty pathetic...

Agreed. I don't blame Bartman much anymore. Let's just say that hypothetically, Alou doesn't make the catch and nobody interferes. Gonzalez is lucky that Bartman pulled his little incident or he would be known as the guy who killed the Cubs in 2003.
