Extra Day Off?

I don't remember the last time that every MLB team didn't start a 4 game series on the Thursday after the ASB. How is it fair that some teams (like the Cubs) get an extra day off?

Had the same thing last year, but the Cubs had to play on their 4th day off because of a previous rained out game.

I'm definitely enjoying another day w/o Cubs baseball, but I'd say that Interleague schedules are more unfair than this.

I am not going to lie, as sad as it is, I haven't missed the Cubs one bit.

exactly. the having the extra day after the all-star game is what results in the 23 day stretches without an off day. same with having two days off in the first week of the season. both imo are terrible for a team, and both happen to the Cubs year after year.

What does fairness have to do with it? All teams have about the same number of total off days over the season. The Cubs are just burning one today. I don't think it's anymore beneficial for them to rest today than at any other time.
