Why does he have to be criticized? He's a young guy who has been screwed over by management because of the unforgivable sin of struggling in his first extended stay in the majors.

 

Maybe if the Cubs had the brains to play him full time last year he could have gotten beyond this point, or we could know more about him. But the guy came into this season with some nice numbers and a good approach. He was criticized by management when things were going well for not being aggressive enough, and now he's struggling mightily. Not to mention he's being asked to come off the bench.

Missed a lot of the game, saw the freak bloop hit. Only the cubs load the bases with 0 out then get two without a run scoring only to have a no name get jammed and get a bloop hit to break your back. But anyways, did Prior look like he was making any progression? Am I dumb to still hold out hope that the 03 Prior will someday be back?

I was kinda impressed by this outing. His WHIP was terrible but his stuff seemed very good. I'm hoping he's just having control problems from the layoff.
