Actually, heading into the previous weekend, we had a wining record at home.

 

But, don't worry. Our ineptitude on the road will more than make up for this. Remember, we just lost two in a row to KC. Need I say more?

Unfortunately even the fans and Murphy's and yes even HiTops can't drag a little performance out of this group. You'd think with all those nice lookin' ladies wearing pink Cubbie hats, it would inspire some semblance of decent baseball from these guys. But alas, no----the badness simply continues...

My guess is it's because we usually score fewer runs than the opposition.

I think it's because we're a power team without power, and our pitchers are serving up the homers in Wrigley (94 HR allowed total, 2nd only behind the Reds and 50 of them are at home). The Cubs have also allowed the most opponent hits at home. Just look at the home stats for yourself: Link

Not entirely true. Each year, some of the bad teams still have .500 records (or better. . . or pretty close to .500).
