There is only one Roberto Novoa, and he plays for our Cubs. Some thought we got nothing out of the Farnsuck trade, but in reality, we got a beast.

I've really enjoyed Novoa as part of the 'pen...he had some rough spots last year, but even then it looked like he could be a really solid member of the bullpen. It feels like he's being shown lately...got a feeling the Cubs are definitely trying to get competing teams interested in trading for some relief help.

In my delusional trade of the Cubs trying to get A-Rod, I think Novoa would fit nicely into my "Wood/Aramis/Jacque/reliever" package.

The Cubs did get a beast out of the Farns deal, SCOTT MOORE

 

But, Novoa can be beastly as long as he isn't walking 3 guys in a row. Once he gets into a groove, he's really good. I really like him as long as it isn't necessary for him to be the big arm out of the pen.

Brutal HR and BB rates this year, but his career numbers aren't all that bad. if he can take 1 mph off his fastball and 4 off of whatever off-speed pitch he throws (and control 'em both better) he could be a solid setup guy.
