Hear me out, its obvious there is something about this organization that is just foul, but there is no particular part that deserves the whole of the blame. At each level, minor league, the team, the manager, the front office, and the ownership, there is a lack of success and not much of a bright side or potential to cling on to. Is it possible that if the cubs did worse than they are projected to do (68-94), and lose 100 games for the first time since 1966 that we might see the drastic changes that this organization needs? Something doesn't sit well with me when I see busts of our organization leave the ivy walls of Wrigley and succeed with an actually competent coaching staff, and seeing that out of all the products of our farm system, only few have succeeded on the big club in the last 5 years.

Wait, this is the cubs, nvm.

It's not wrong. I love it when they win, but I definitely see the silver lining in losing these days, and losing BIG. Only absolute failure will ultimately drive McHendust out of town.

Are you guys really reading what you are writing! You are saying that you don't mind the team losing! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. No matter any sort of silver lining no one wants their favorite team to lose. EVER.

Agreed. Plus the fact that McHenDust isn't going anywhere no matter what the record is. Might as well hope they grow some brains and get some good players and get rid of the ones that can't seem to escape the DL.

Maybe this is just my Marmol-induced serotonin talking, but I don't think the Cubs are in that bad a state. Some good young pitching, some decent core position players, some solid players in the minors, the ability to afford a substantial payroll, and that annoying git on the South Side to goad them forward -- could be worse.

Ass, gas or grass!

Er, actually, nevermind that first one around here...and I have a feeling the gas part isn't going to be the gas I need...and the third...anyone wanna mow my lawn?

NO NOT REALLY. But I can see the good in either side. I just don't want to see lingering around. I want to see either 10 out of their next 13 or .300 baseball. Go one way or the other Cubs, is all I'm saying. If you're gonna win, get back IN IT, or fail.

I want the Cubs to win every game...but this year I can tolerate losses a little more because it's one step closer to the end of Dusty.

And it's also one step closer to the end of the world.

Still, I root for the Cubs to win every single day.

McHenDust. Nice, I like it.

I'm taking full credit.

Hadn't seen it anywhere but I wasn't planning on copyrighting it anyway.

Then again...McHenDust ©

Aren't you the same guy that was getting rid of your Cubs hat and buying a Sox hat?

I never, ever root for the team to lose or the players to fail. That said, when a team stinks, it makes sense to divest yourself of the parts you know will not help you in the future (i.e., Rusch, Perez, etc.) and find out what you have in the kids who are waiting to play. Edited by RynoRules

Yes, it's wrong. You're a Cubs fan and you're rooting for them to lose? That's absurd.

This question seems to be making the rounds of the Cubs blogosphere. It find it sad.

Cheer for you team to win or go home.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I'm rooting for them to lose short term, to get new management and players in there, because I want a winner long term, and I don't believe that will happen with the team as it's currently constructed. Sorry.
