Yeah, I think Pierre is gonna be here when Lee gets back.

I also doubt that Dusty would put Lee at #3 right away, considering his wrist will not be 100%.

But given that his wrist is 100% and we haven't made any trades....

Once Lee returns to form, he'll be hitting 3rd with Ramirez and Jones each sliding down a spot. If Pierre can get hot and stay hot for a while, this lineup could see some runs again.

Booooo

We need to move Murton up the lineup, he hits with more confidence and patience there.

At this point, he needs to be 7 or 8 or leadoff. Anywhere else and he's too much of a double play risk until he gets his swing/eye back. I know that's saying a lot on THIS team, but the difference is I'm confident Murton will break back out.

You can "hide" his lack of slugging in the leadoff spot.

I don't see Lee regaining his power for at least a couple weeks, so I'd like to start him out in the two hole.

Where do you put Carlos Bel- I mean Angel Pagan when he returns ;)

Edit: Nevermind he's going all Hollandsworth on us:

Angel Pagan is still not recovered from the hamstring pull he suffered on April 16.

Pagan is still at least two weeks away from returning to the Cubs. "That was a pretty serious injury,'' manager Dusty Baker said. "He's progressing, but not as quickly as we'd like. We were hoping he'd be closer than he is.''

Until Pagan returns, the season is doomed.

Really, I don't understand people seriously bringing his return up as something that's gonna be significant. I keep forgetting the guy exists.

Oh c'mon we're 22-33, in dire need of motivation to watch this team. The guy thinks he's Carlos Beltran, he said it himself. I want to see the self-fulfilled prophecy carried out in person.

By the way I'm half kidding. But I think he would improve the bench if he can hit anywhere near what he did in the Spring

He's almost guarenteed to hit better than Blanco and Neifi, so at least he won't be the worst guy on the bench. SET THE WORLD ABLAZE, PAGAN!

And he's inexplicably hitting lefties when it's clutch. Like Womack, just ride it until he inevitably falls off. Nevin ain't going nowhere.

He's too sore to go anywhere.

There's no reason to take Pierre out of the lineup. The leadoff spot? Definitely. But otherwise you're just putting out similar production(Womack, Nevin v. RHP) without the hope of improvement. Our season is pretty much shot, stick Pierre 7th or 8th until he starts hitting more line drives to increase his trade value to the point where he'll be worth something. Otherwise you take the draft pick at the end of the year, but let him play unless there's a real alternative(i.e. Pie in September) that can help for the longer term.
