payton brings in crosby with a two run shot off sisco. I'm almost to a season high on hitters points. hopefully the bookends get it going soon so I can hold you off - no doubt your offense can post similar numbers.

the rockies finally get a hit. now how about knocking him out, so i don't have to deal w/ two CG's.

he is over 100 pitches so I doubt he'll finish the game. better get hoffman in for the save.

One pitcher starts the 6th inning with 2 ERs....gets a ball off the shin leaves the game with the inherited run charged to him. NO QS, extra earned run. Another pitcher, gives up just 1 hit in 5 of his 6 innings, other inning, has a lapse and gives up 4. Goes 6, NO QS.

CB has 3 pitchers all go exactly 6 IP, 3 ER.

QS is a silly stat in many ways - big picture it is generally indicative though. we'll get rid of it next year and boost the pitcher scoring by inning.

I've always felt that pitchers should only be partially charged for runs that relievers allow to score - ie if you leave a guy on first and he scores, you get 1/4 run and the reliever gets 3/4.

I've thought that way too. Similarly, if a reliever inherits a runner on third that scores, I think the starter should be charged with 3/4 of the run and the reliever 1/4.

I also think similar logic should apply to errors. If a ball drops in between two fielders because nobody takes charge, rather than credit the batter with a hit I think each fielder that could have caught the ball should be charged with 1/2 of an error.

Raw, it worked out for me! They may be the first time ever I've had 3 QS in the same day.

Recent history for my two pitchers tonight (including tonight's games):

Webb: 3 GS, 25 IP, 0 R, 0 ER

Liriano: 5 G, 3 GS, 21.1 IP, 1 R, 1 ER

Altogether, that's 1 ER over the past 46.1 IP.

I'm getting my monkey arse whooped! My bats need to come alive. My pitching has been amazing in my wins (except for last week) and mediocre in my losses.

Looks like I'll be 2 games out of the playoffs. At least I have a solid 2nd half history to fall back on.

Want Blanton for Smoltz? Blanton only gave me a complete game shut out last night. :D

Well, it was KC.

whoever you play next week gets each twice too. you almost cut the lead in half over the last two hours last night. I've told the boys they need to shoot for 400.

We're straight up on starts the rest of the way and I'm down by well over 40 points. Heck, it's not like my team could possibly pitch any better than they have! My offense could turn up the heat to make things a bit closer, but I think it's quite a long shot for me to come back and win that this point.

Oh well, as long as I score 300 points a week, I'll take the occasional loss against someone who is on fire as your team has been all week long.

Longshot perhaps but certainly not unpossible. if my offense keeps going it will be pretty tough for you to come back. I need Hafner and Konerko to get it going. Long way to go.

btw Tim, I've posted your last sentence on the bulletin board. Only one team has scored over 250 every week you know - I guess they have just been hot for 9 weeks . . .

okay at 1-7 and clearly the worst team int he league I am looking to move some players if you need them, but please offer me something good, i am tired of bad offers, I know my team sucks and I have yet to make a draft, but I am not baseball stupid.

On the block:

Ty Wigginton

Todd Walker

Manny Ramirez (I would like a good young player that might have an exemption or two)

Mike Piazza (not much needed to have him)

Eric Hinske

Jason Jennings

Armando Benitez

Eric Gagne

Mike Wood

Kelvim Escobar

Jose Capellan

I am looking to rebuild my team, I am firing my manager and GM (cough cough)

Don't make any offers for the following (unless they are incredible):

Reyes

Peavy

Felix Hernandez

After all the trading is done, I've put ensberg at U, moved Lopez from U to 2B and put Floyd in at OF for Bonds, who hasn't played this week. Sheff went on the DL, which combined with Bonds' sore back prompted me to give up half my minor leaguers for guys who can actually be in the lineup once in a while.

yea, too many of my hitters are sitting as well - go figure the sox and indians combine for 20 runs and I get a measly 4.5. Funny that you describe floyd as someone who plays frequently . . .

Anyway, I put Hudson in but he doesn't pitch until monday.

My bar was set much lower than frequently!
