While I wont doubt that Jesse Jackson might jump all over it, I do doubt that this is somehow preventing the Cubs from firing someone.

Jesse Jackson = clown.

Seconded. The notion that the ridiculous Jesse Jackson might jump on this isn't nearly as ridiculous as the idea that this is what's keeping the Cubs from firing him.

Total ineptitude sounds much more plausible to me.

Does anyone not remember the article Scoop Jackson wrote last year that argued that if Baker was fired, it was due to racism?

Another reason to ignore ESPN.

Both Jacksons are clowns, but I certainly think Jesse would try to leech off the situation nonetheless, what with it being practically in his backyard, and the Dusty ineptitude becoming a bigger and bigger story for him to piggyback on. It could happen.

You can't fire two black managers in a row unless you hire two black managers in a row...

Jackson can say all he wants. here's no chance that Hendry is keeping Baker for that reason. He's keeping Baker because he's either too blind or too stubborn to realize Dusty is a horrible manager.

I think it'd be naive to think there wouldn't be backlash from the rainbow push, though.

I'm sure there would be; I'm just saying that's not a legitimate reason for keeping Dusty. Hendry just needs to realize a change must be made and let others say what they want.
