If that dumbass Jones is still going to play RF, then we need someone who can actually hit a left-handed pitcher to platoon with him. Pagan might not be the ideal choice, but who else can fill that role on this roster?

why is he a guy we could use? he was horrible before he got injured

How was he horrible? He was hitting .263 off of the bench, served as a good pinch runner, and didn't make any errors. He did what was asked of him, I don't know what more you would have expected from him.

a .579 OPS is horrible, bench player or not

things are so bad fans are anxiously awaiting the return of a crummy career minor leaguer.

they are bad! well, we could really use some energy, that said can pagan bring that well no but it could help having him in left field when murton has a day off than have hairston out there fouling pitches off his foot! we need a spark, some momentum, having a guy like pagan on your bench is a spark, well not a big but hes a guy the opposing manager/ players know they cant let a guy on in a close game cuz they have a good runner on the bench,,, well i went to far but he could help! :D

They do suck, but some people expect all-stars on the bench, which isn't going to happen. Pagan wasn't doing that bad off of the bench when he got hurt.

Because 19 At Bats is such an ideal sample size. :?

Nobody expects all stars on the bench. But they do expect competence. And there is a wide gulf between the Cubs bench, including Pagan, and competence.

He could probably be more productive than Bynum, but aside from ST, Pagan has never really had much of a bat at all.

A 25 year old with a career OPS around 700 in the minors has a good enough sample size for people not to fret over his return to the bench.

Regardless, no matter how many at bats it was, the 579 OPS was horrible. Sample size has nothing to do with it.

I'll take Hairston anyday over Pagan.

Well at least Pagan is smart enough to not try and steal a base with the pitcher up and 2 outs.. Or end an inning by getting caught stealing third...
