2 RBIs. I know he wasn't brought in to drive in runs, but that is a part of your offensive game. His 20 runs scored is lousy, but not humorous. No extension please.

Knowing how superstitious players are, does anyone agree with me that maybe it's time to ditch the camouflage tee shirt that he wears. It doesn't seem to be working.

a few days ago fred posted that he's 2-38 w/ men on.

matt lawton part II. :x

2/38? Is that better or worse than his average w/ the bases empty?

Can't you guys just give him time?

You know he's trying very hard.

On a side note - I was sitting outside Wrigley with a paper bag on my head on Friday and saw Juan pull out of the players parking lot.........I was very impressed. He was driving a Kia.

I laughed for the first time in a while.

Sadly, that's probably the kind of quality hitting instruction he's already getting from clines/sarge.

Wow, that is just terrible.

I never posted any such thing !!! When I post numbers on this forum, I beg you to take my posts with the utmost literal interpretation. Here's what I posted.......

Guz is now 1 behind Pierre in RBI this yr.......Wow

RBI is a counting stat. Rate stats are more meaningful.

Pierre has driven in 2 of 38 baserunners...... 0.053

Guzman has driven in 1 of 5 baserunner.......0.200

How's that ?

Nobody imagined Pierre to be this bad though.

Not trying to pat myself on the back or saying I told you (rhetorical) so.

But...

I did.

When I was at the cubs-giants game on Wednesday, they posted a stat that the Cubs were 9-2 when Pierre scored a run. Which on the surface is awesome, until you realize that, up until that point, Pierre had only scored in 11 games. That was severely disappointing.

Granted, there is little offense on this team, so it is not all his fault, but his low OBP and avg don't help at all. Quality prospects for a leadoff hitter who scores only every 4 games? d'oh!

This season deffinatly hasn't been "Juan Pierre like".

Well, whaddya expect? Put on a Cub uniform, forget how to play baseball.

He wasn't that good before he put on a Cubs uniform.

That's part of Mr. Hendry's job, to get guys that will help the Cubs and get better when they are in Chicago. Sell low buy high, that's our Jimmy.

What is more pathetic then that? From our cleanup hitter:

Bases Empty (63 ab) .232/.284/.435/.719

Runners On (57 ab) .193/.309/.386/.695

RISP (39 ab) .154/.292/.333/.625

RISP 2 Out (15 ab) .133/.278/.333/.611

Or if you look at runs contributed (r + rbi – hr):

Pierre 22

Barrett 25

Walker 25

Ramirez 29

Pathetic. We have much bigger problems the Pepe LePew
