perez saw 8 foing 0-2 with on int BB

hill saw 8 going 0-2 and

Fire Gene Clines

Fire the whole bleeping coaching staff. It's perfectly obvious to everyone except Dusty and Hendry that they aren't doing their job. What kind of moron thinks Murton needs to be more aggressive? He's one of the few decent hitters we have!

Do any of the coaches feel a sense of shame?

Do any of the players (excuse me, non-players) feel a sense of shame?

How can they look themselves in teh mirror in the morning?

Geez, I just don't respect any of them any more.

This is the first time I have gotten drunk on a Sunday evening in over 20 years. I just can't stand it any more.

GAAAAH! :-&

If they fire CLines, they need to fire Matthews, too, or he'll just reassume his role as Hitting Coach.

Really, they should fire everyone except Speier, who appears to be an excellent 3rd base coach.

I still can't believe Hendry got a contract extension. Staggering.

He's still the hitting coach for most of the veterans. Clines is the hitting coach for most of the younger players, I believe.

I'd like to see coaches who provided offensive scouting reports.

"There is no one to blame. It's definitely not Dusty's fault that this is going on, or (pitching coach) Larry Rothschild's fault or any of the player's fault. It is one of those situations that you get into this rut and sometimes it is really hard to get out of it," Williamson said

Its just an act of God - the Cubs sound like an insurance company.

Really? I didn't know that. And I'm simultaneously stunned and outraged. And incontinent.

Matthews proved his infinitesimal worth already. Why contnue to let him instruct hitters.

I believe Sarge and Clines were splitting those duties when Sarge was the hitting coach, too.

I seem to recall something about Dusty doing work with the hitters, as well, but that was back in 2003.

The Cubs are so bad they're making you urinate on yourself? Really, that's just beyond ridiculous, something has to be done immediately.

Anyone who "instructs" these "hitters" needs to be fired immediately. Bring in some new coaches who stress the importance of working counts and waiting for your pitch. I just boggles my mind that these coaches get paid good money to tell guys to "be aggressive" and swing at any pitch even remotely close.

Who are some possibilities for replacements?

Too much time on your hands? I've voted over 7000 times for the ASG. That's too much time. :)

Is Neifi in the lead at 2nd?

If that's called giving up, then the Cubs gave up during the entire 2004 and 2005 seasons, when they led the major leagues in swinging at the first pitch.

Fixing the problem would require more than simply firing the major league hitting coach, though.
