Even simple animals know that when you try to get some cheese and get shocked, you stop trying to get the cheese.

 

But goddarnit, variable rewards systems, like gambling, tend to grab people. So Dusty sees some good results from bunting , you know what he's gonna do? BUNT SOME MORE.

 

 

Of course spread over the course of a season its gonna have a very negative effect, but he wont worry about that.

 

i'm curious to see what these "good results" are. It seems like whenever we bunt, that run never scores.

 

There are complicated inter-related contingencies operating. Not the least of which is the private verbal behavior one engages in with relation to the social contingencis in operation.
