The Chiefs have once again been victims of the rain in Indiana tonight. The following rain-out message was posted mid-day or so http://www.peoriachiefs.com/news/?id=5781

They'll try and play 2 tomorrow starting at 4 central, although the forcast isn't looking great. Hopefully the boys packed long sleeves as it's downright chilly to be at the ballpark.

It does appear that Scott Taylor's turn in the rotation is now being skipped and it'll be Atkins/Billek starting for the Chiefs tomorrow.

:titanic: hopefully we don't get any more washouts!

Why couldn't the Iowa-CSprings game be in Colorado instead! I'd love to go to that here. The solar sox have a pretty nice stadium for a AAA team too. Iowa doesn't go to colorado at all this year. :x

Please tell me someone will be doing some play-by-play of Kerry tonight. I need some good news after today's debacle.

There's a game thread in the game thread forum. You can also follow along on MiLB gameday.

Pie gunned down trying to stretch a leadoff double into a triple. Must've seen his power numbers.

Kerry goes 5 IPs, 5 hits, 1 run (earned), 2 walks, 3 Ks.

Not bad. 85 pitches through only 5 innings is a bit high, but he only allowed 1 earned run and walked only 2. He threw close to 90 pitches which is where he wanted to be before joining the Cubs. Considering he threw 70 pitches last time out, he should be good for close to 100 pitches in his first start with the Cubs on the 17th, assuming they bring him and don't decide to go with one more rehab start.

Too bad the rain was in Indiana and not Chicago. :(

Hey, might as well get the loss out of the way now rather than later. Getting swept in a doubleheader is even more depressing.

True; it would have just been delaying the torture.

Is it time to get a littttlllee excited about Montanez? It looks like something finally turned on in his head.

He hits for very little power and won't make it to the big leagues as a corner outfielder. He'll also have to cut down on his strikeouts, but he's certainly hitting right now.

He's 6'2'' 185, but he's also 24 years old. He isn't really going to bulk up. He's going to have to move eventually. Even if his future is as a bench player, he'll probably want to try the infield again.
