Bynum's last game and he got to pick his position?

Huh? Are you saying that he's going to be sent down soon??

Not that I'm aware of. That was just all I could come up with.

Bynum and Blanco? Yuck.

Is Blanco getting the start to get Barrett some rest? He had a few days off last week with the hand/finger injury.

Is it possible Dusty is a bit upset with Barrett's defense yesterday? Not that it is ever spectacular, but yesterday he had some horrible throws to second trying to get runners stealing second. Or maybe Dusty believes Barrett is tired based on those throws.

FWIW, Barret has started the last 4 games. This is only the second time all season that he's gone 4 straight, and he hasn't yet gone 5 straight. I wouldn't read anything into his getting the night off, at least untill and unless he gets tomorrow night off too.

Not to throw logic into the mix...but could Dusty have Blanco in there to maybe help the rookie in his first start this year? He's obviously the best defensive catcher of the two...(of course that doesn't explain the Bynum start)...

Blanco might be playing because Dusty is afraid Hill will bounce some curveballs.

Wow...you beat me by 3 seconds or so

Juan Cruz is probably jumping up and down right now after seeing the Cubs lineup. Thank goodness the Lakers game is on tonight so I have another option.

That's an excellent point. At least now he won't have to worry as much about the runners and can just pitch. If Barrett were catching the runners would be moving all night long.

A .231 CS% isn't that bad considering he caught 5 of Maddux's 6 starts and all 5 of Marshall's starts.

My first fearless prediction, the offense this game will surprise people in a good way, i.e. 5+ runs

It will also be your last if the Cubs don't go off tonight! :x ...

Well, that is probably true but it is definately a sorry state of affairs when you need to give up the little bit of offense you have on a team with limited offense.

exactly. now he just has to worry about pitching a shut out b/c he isn't going to get any run support.

How many runners have attempted to steal on him? A person with a bad arm is going to throw people out at some point if players continue to run because they will get more and more aggressive.

Thats why I hated EI. MLBTV is the way to go!

You act as if being denied the ability to watch this train wreck is a bad thing. I almost want to thank EI for taking the pain away....
