another bad night? What is wrong with this guy?

Apr 29 St. Louis Cardinals CL Jason Isringhausen retired the first two batters in the ninth inning Saturday, April 29, of a 2-1 game but proceeded to walk the next three batters to bring up Washington Nationals 1B Nick Johnson. He got Johnson to hit a grounder to him, but he lobbed the throw wide to first base, and Albert Pujols had to make a good play to seal the victory. Meanwhile, Cardinals RP Braden Looper pitched extremely well again in the eighth inning. This is a situation to continue watching

johnson swung at the first pitch too...that's solid hitting.

also, i have a strategic secret that i wanted to share...DON'T PITCH TO PUJOLS! especially in a 1-1 game in the 8th inning. don't these teams get espn?

I was hacked Johnson swung at that pitch, c'mon ... Izzy couldn't find the K-zone for the life of him. Also, that lob to first was great, he looked like a High School kid happy to just get an out...

I don't know what's going on. He is healthy, he's throwing the same velocity he has had for the last couple years, but for some reason, he has lost all control. Maybe hes trying to do too much. I don't know. Looper has looked really good though which is surprising the crap out of me.

<--- wonders how many reclamation projects have to go STL's way before they stop being surprised

The funny thing is that, had he not blown 2 or 3 saves this year, Cards fans would be saying, "Just another night with Izzy on the mound."

While his WHIP (historically) seems to suggest otherwise, it alway sseems that Izzy finds a way to make it interesting.

Bottom line is that he got the save and that's all I care about.

I wouldn't be proclaiming Looper a success just yet.

So, for comparison purposes, what do you think about Dempster?

Have you watched him this year? He's got a 0.69 WHIP. He's not making it even remotely interesting.

I was just looking for KyHen's opinion.
