Wow. Just saw that Glendon Rusch gave up 4 HRs. That's 11 HRs in 22 1/3 innings. Absolutely brutal. If he is still in the rotation after today, Dusty needs to be flogged.

whatever. he's a crafty veteran who has been around the league and seen these hitters before. he's also a lefty. if you don't have these types of players on your team you can't win. he's also proven that he can hit, and it's important to have a stick like that in your lineup every 5th day.

Now that we have guys on the roster like Pierre, Jones, and Bynum:

I think we're more versatile, more athletic, I think we'll run a lot better and we'll play better defense.

despite the fact that everyone would have reached out to catch the ball, a fan is seen holding his arms in to his body so blanco can make the catch. But I must be hallucinating, since no one would ever do that

Man, what a slaughter. Even Custer had better numbers at the Little Bighorn than this. :x

The CUBS were off that day, but were celebrating their victory from the day before !!

Jim Hendry: "I think we're more versatile, more athletic, I think we'll run a lot better and we'll play better defense."

That's what Hendry said after signing Jacque Jones. I crack up every time I read it.

Yep, we're definitely playing better defense, and I suppose we run better. As for being "more athletic," who cares? I'd rather have a baseball player than an "athlete." I'm not sure what he meant by saying we're "more versatile," but I think it's code for "we now have guys who can't hit the ball out of the infield but can run real fast, so we'll play for one run even more often now than we used to."
