And the Cubs would be leading if Dusty hadn't pulled Jones.

Let it go already

Why? It just happened. And Dusty pulls this crap a couple times a week. Why should fans just pretend he's not a bad strategist?

I don't care who is on the mound, Barrett needs to PH for the pitcher's spot. If he's not available, then it's Restovich.

I agree.

The Marlins have no lefties in their pen. We'll see Neifi.

Aramis and his .206 BA has a higher OBP than Pierre.

That makes sense. You know teams are more likely to walk Aramis.

It makes a lot of sense. Pierre's not good.

There's no reason to pick a fight. Aramis, as the only true power threat in the lineup, should have a higher OBP regardless of his BA. It's comparing apples and oranges.

MURTON

Oh, I'm not intending to pick a fight. You expressed your opinion that Ramirez's OBP is higher than Pierre's b/c of Ramirez is good enough to be pitched around. So I was just expressing the other side of the coin...that Juan Pierre is NOT good enough to be pitched around.

Since Pierre cannot hit for ANY power, he has one job and one job alone: get on base. If he doesn't get on base, he's useless as a ballplayer. Well, he hasn't gotten on base this year with any consistancy whatsoever.

And there he is in the on deck circle. Well, it's up to you Hairston.

Murt is the first and only player in the time I've watched this team that calms me down when he comes up to the plate in clutch situations.

Mark Grace never did that for you?

No, but he did seduce my overweight sister when he was in a slump.

Only if the go ahead run was on 2nd at the bottom of the 9th. Any other situation, Sammy would follow... and K with three quick whiffs of the bat... EXCEPT in '98.
