I'm not going to lie, I did absolutely nothing to help the Cubs win today. I didn't do anything to help them lose either though. Which would mean I helped them win. But I said I didn't help them win. Wait, I'm confused. Screw this, I'm getting a beer.

Well, after the 6th, I quit watching completely and did some laundry. I tuned back in to start the bottom of the 8th. Last time I did that.....Michael Barrett won the game with a grand slam.

and here I was thinking my level of brooding, bitching, and whining finally reached the point where it was so annoying to my family that the Cubs turned it around for the benefit of family values.

 

This sounds like me. I was yelling at the TV "C'mon, how but just a two-run single!!!!!", and then boom, two seconds later, Murton hits a two run single.

 

After that, I was complaining about how Jones is having trouble staying above the Mendoza line, and then boom!

I changed seats from my recliner to the couch at the start of the bottom of the 8th.

 

Also, so far this season every time the Cubs lose my wife drinks out of my Cubs coffee mug and then they win the next day. I therefore take credit for the team not having a losing streak over 2 games.

I was torn because 24 was wrapping up just the bases were juiced for Matt Murton. Jack Bauer v. Matt Murton.

 

Murton won. And Jack ended up on a plane.

Before the bootom of the 8th started I said Murton would get a game tying hit as the sixth batter of the inning. (You ever want to piss off your lady, accurately call something like that)

It was me. I have Murton on my team in a keeper league with weekly lineup changes. I benched him for this week since he was struggling, and that guaranteed that he'd have a big week.
