over/under on when people will stop complaining about small ball when it works? - The year 2884.

Last comment on this by me in a game thread (tonight).

The are opportunity costs associated with any move. We'll never know what would have happend if Barrett hits in that AB.

JJ bunting was fine by me.

I understand about Barrett, the squeeze was a good call with a good bunter.

Restovich, pinch hitting for Restovich, struck out swinging

Come on, this micromanagement is getting ridiculous.

Shoulda just let Restovich hit for himself instead of taking Restovich out for Restovich and wasting Restovich.

"Being John Restovich" Coming to a theater near you.

Nicely played. :)

juan E is a single away from a cycle in STL, 4 RBIs. 5-3 cards. :(

Well, Santos is pitching (he gave up the cycle to Grudz last year) so it makes sense.

The JJ bunt was better, simply because it was later in the game and the 7th place hitter who can't hit lefties facing a lefty. But still....2 batters, 2 doubles. Willis was losing it. Same result if Jones hits the ball to the right side, and there's more of a chance of it going thru a hole.

id like to thank Vasher for giftwrapping us the 2001 red river shootout. Thanks Nate.

Please explain.

Up 7-3, we line up for a field goal, kicker pooches it and does a terrible job, ball is going to land inside the 5 yard line and conceivably roll into the end zone for a touchback. Vasher, by all accounts a really nice guy, has a brain fart and makes a diving catch at the three. A play later a blitzing Roy Williams hits Chris Simms throwing arm, the ball flutters into Teddy Lehman's hands who strolls into the endzone for a TD, 14-3 OU.

That play by Roy Williams is one of the best plays I've ever seen. It was just unbelievable.

[bias]Julius Peppers' mid-air one-handed pick of a Vick fumble without breaking stride and goes 60 yards for a TD is better[/bias]

man I hope juan doesnt become the 2005 eckstein of 2006

I think it's just the Pirates making him look good. He hasn't hit real pitching this year.

is squeeze play small ball? i say no.

i just say it's stupid.

It is?

Was it stupid tonight with the wind howling in?

Was it stupid when the Cards used it to beat the Cubs in a game last year?

I think you are going to have a pretty hard time with your position.
