This thread is a perfect example of a typical Cub fan (75% of Cub fans fall into this category). The thread started off bitching about how JJ swung at the first pitch after a walk, how bad of a player he is, etc, etc......

He hits a 3 home run, and people start praising him. Also, I've gotten pretty tired of reading through all 10 pages, but I don't recall anyone mentioning anything about how JJ homerun was on a 1st pitch, fastball, out of the strike zone? Yet his other 1st pitch swings were stupid. :?:

How did you calculate that 75%? It's nice that you've used one of your few posts to ridicule most of the fandom.

I enjoy your unprovoked attack against Cubs fans in general and posters in this thread in particular.

I'm glad you do, because it's about time a real cub fan spoke up and opened some eyes.....

I would like further information from a real Cubs fan, do you have a newsletter?

Some of my good friends, Sox fans, once said to me that only 1 in 4 Cub fans know anything about baseball, the others are just there for Budweisers, Bars, and Babes......Unfortunately, I've learned that they were right.

You didn't even read this thread!

We're trashing Jockstrap because he compared us negatively to TWINS fans because "they are there through thick and thin", which might be the stupidest Cubs-related thing ever said. That led to a discussion of if and when booing is acceptable.

But it's good to know that you think you are "the voice" of Cubs fans when you can't even read a damn message board thread well enough to know what it's about.

It's weird that your Sox fan friends new that long before you, a real Cubs fan, found out.

So when I peruse this message board, I occasionally happen across a post that causes me to let out a polite chuckle, which I enjoy greatly. I don't generally actually laugh out loud. This time I did.

How is it stupid and how are you punishing yourself? Last I checked, tons of people all over the US go on strike and don't go to work when there is a "general consensus" among employees that something in the workplace is "unfair" or "wrong". And we are talking about individuals' livelihood for God's sake, not a baseball game.

My point is, if 40k people stop going to the games, perhaps ownership will one day get the picture. It takes a collective effort, but someone has to start. That's the problem with Cub fans, they continue to go to games because of the atmosphere, down some Budweisers, join guys like Farnsworth after the game at the Cubby Bear, Hi-Tops and the like, and then boo a guy like JJ as if he was suppose to be the savior after going nearly a century without winning a WS.....

Okay, I get it...so the problem with Cubs fans is that they attend the games?

You've opened my eyes, True Cubs Fan.

This is precisely my point, you don't get my post at all......I understand EXACTLY what this thread is all about. Using terms like "Jockstrap" is exactly my point....

Real fans don't make stupid nicknames of the players on their team.

Next time you go to a game, perhaps you should turn to the fans next to you and you guys should boo eachother, instead of booing JJ. Close to 100 years and counting, and supporting the Tribune Co faithfully.....

The Tribune Company hasn't been involved for 100 years, but I'm sure you knew that, being a real Cubs fan and all.

If Jacque wanted to make a statement, he should stop talking to reporters for the rest of the season.

Seriously, when did baseball players become so whiny. He should just shut up and play baseball.

Just to clarify:

Cub fan goes to game and cheers: "Dumb; only there for bleachers, Budweisers..."

Cub fan goes to game and boos: "Dumb; only there for bleachers, Budweisers..."

New RF please. Bring up Pie. Bring up Sing. Bring back Sammy. Anything. Jones sucks.

I just don't get it. The Cubs were frustrated by Corey's inability to be a more selective hitter, so naturally they go out and get a more EXPENSIVE, OLDER version of Corey. I just don't get it. I would prefer Burnitz to Jones.

Jim Hendry = No Offseason Plan.

Again.

Of course there was an offseason plan.

WE are making our team more Smallball.

Good plan.

Jones hasn't whined at all. He said he hears it but tries to block it out. He also said that boos aren't going to make him play better or any worse.

How is that whining?

Jacque is hitting .209/.271/.442

He's got 12 K's and 3 BB's.

All those numbers mean is that he is due for a hot streak to get back to career norms. The team has been winning despite his struggles, so hopefully they continue winning when he comes around. Same canbe said for Aramis Ramirez.

Even if his numbers were much, much worse than what you could expect for him, there's no reason to think he'll get a hot streak to average it out. Averages do not work that way.

The Twins have fans? Everytime I see one of their games there is no one in the stands.

The Jacque-O-Meter now stands at:

.231/.283

after going 3 for 4 and being a triple short of the cycle. Thats quite a way to add 43 pts to your batting average in 1 game.
