what was eckstein trying to do there?

That wasn't Ecksteins fault. Maddux threw the ball to the homeplate side of the bag and pulled Walker into the basepath. And yes, it was frightening.

It *doesn't* lower your BA.

Yes it does. If you reach on an error, you get charged an AB, 0 for 1.

And for OBP it counts as a reached base safely.

no it doesn't.

Oops...my bad.

In baseball statistics, on base percentage (OBP) (sometimes referred to as on base average (OBA)) is a measure of how often a batter gets to first base for any reason other than a fielding error or a fielder's choice.

Thanks guys, I figured that was the case but wanted to make sure.

What about a WP strikeout?

true, but why would the midget move left, into Walker?

I really didn't see that. I'm not saying he didn't but I didn't notice it.

Murton looking clueless at the plate.

:?

sarge screwed him up.

I think he's trying to help him not take so many called strikes. I know there's the idea that they are trying to make him too aggressive but he looked too passive in that AB.

It's been one hell of a rough week for the kid.

Len: Murton not looking as locked in as he did earlier this year, he usually tracks the ball all the way into the bat.

Gee I wonder if Sarge and Clines telling Murton to "be more aggressive" has anything to do with it.
