As most of you know, I went to Texas a couple of weeks ago and while there I went to see the Astros play the Marlins. I paid $35 bucks for a seat down the rightfield line, row five. Really nice seat to watch Mitre pitch against the Astros. It was a good game as the Astros busted out the whooping stick on Pettitte and before the game, Dontrelle Willis even signed an autograph for me (as well as Borowski, Nolassco, Helms, and Amezega)

Anyway, at the game the Astros were giving out 30,000 of these replica NL championship rings. They look like this.

These things are small. Maybe a little bigger than a pinkie ring.

I got mine, because I figured what the hell. I don't want the damn thing, so I listed it on Ebay. Right now someone has bid it up to $26.00 and it still has 2 days to go.

Thank-you Astro fans.

After the $35 ticket, you are still $9 in the hole. But you do have a couple days left.

Considering I had a row five seat and got numerous autos, I feel pretty good about the exchange thus far.

Wow, they gave you cars too?

Good deal. =D>

Nice deal indeed. Dontrelle is very cool. We paid $35 to get his auto at a show here in KC. They tried saying he couldn't take pics or personalize without us paying more, but he said the heck with that and let us take pics. He also told me he liked my Cubs shirt.

Dontrelle is one of the most personable athletes I've ever encountered. He signed everything, even two items for some people. He smiled and talked and pretty much made it a pleasant experience.

It was particularly humorous when someone handed him a ticket stub with no pen to sign it with. Dontrell said, "Is this your first rodeo?" And then borrowed a pen to sign the ticket.

What was the final price Vance?

32.99. So, two bucks from the price I paid to sit 4 rows from the field.

I wonder how much it would go for on Ebay if it was a cubs NL or WS replica ring...?
