  1. Man...looking on the replay, Furcal really slammed into Lee. Lee was knocked up off his feet. Quite an accomplishment for a little guy like Furcal.
  2. Eerily similar to the collision that knocked Rolen out for the season last year....except the other way around. He was moving his wrist around, opening and closing his fist...so it didn't appear to be broken. Probably just a sprain.
  3. except it's all good now. but nice try - next argument, please. Ahh...I see. They've replaced all of the concrete at Wrigley... Isn't that kind of impossible?
  4. I've got standing room for Friday's game. SRO is not a bad gig. As I've said in another thread...SRO field level, behind home plate rocks.
  5. I don't feel like rummaging through all the pages, so all I'm gonna say is, I've heard the Cardinals have the best fans in not only baseball, but sports, from 75% of all Cardinal fans I've met. For not having won anything in the last 20 years, the Cardinal fans I've met sure are full of themselves. Well, to be honest...your team winning championships has nothing to do with how good of a fan you are...no matter what The Sporting News says. Don't spam me over this...but I've heard others say Wrigley is a complete dump. I've been there, and I wouldn't go so far as to call it a dump...but let's just say the Cubs really need a new ballpark. I'm a huge fan of the classic parks, and nostalgia is nice...but so is strong concrete. And for what it's worth...the new Busch is really nice.
  6. THE EDMONDS STEROIDS THREAD WAS A JOKE Not a single person in that thread "more or less accused" Edmonds of using steroids. With all of the Edmonds hating going on in here...how was I supposed to know?
  7. I wouldn't have minded seeing Lee a spot or two higher, but I think Z was that high because of his ability to stay healthy, which is invaluable for a pitcher. You're not considered the 11th best player in the league because you can stay healthy. He's the 3rd highest ranked pitcher on the list. All of these pitchers come before Zambrano if I am starting a team: - Jo. Santana - C. Carpenter - J. Peavy - R. Oswalt - D. Willis - J. Beckett Ben Sheets would have been on my list, but he just can't stay healthy. And I'll gamble with Beckett. Santana, maybe. Peavy and Oswalt are about equal to Z. I wouldn't pick any of the rest though. Carp and Beckett have bad injury history. Carp is the reigning Cy Young winner...he's on the list. The injury thing may be a concern for some...fair enough, but I'll take my chances...same with Beckett. And just because Zambrano hasn't gotten hurt yet, he's overweight and more susceptible to injury...so you could figure that in as well. On a side note, Zambrano could cost you a handfull of games each year due to meltdowns. If you figure injuries into the equation (missing a handfull of games a season), meltdowns could be figured in too. I'm not saying I wouldn't want him on my team, but man...3rd most valuable pitcher in the majors right now? I don't see that at all.

  9. You guys don't think Lee should be ranked higher? He could have been MVP last year, but only #13 on this list? I thought he'd be a little higher than #13. And I think Zambrano is a tad high at #11.
  10. It was all downhill after his two grand slams in one inning against LA.
  11. Considering I had a row five seat and got numerous autos, I feel pretty good about the exchange thus far. Wow, they gave you cars too? Good deal. =D>
  12. Why is it lame, though. I think that EVERY town should claim to have the best fans. It's like Chicago saying "we have the best pizza". Obviously there's nothing to document that, but I don't have a problem with them saying it....... I wouldn't argue with them! First of all, chicago DOES have the best pizza in the world. A triple blind taste test performed by me proved it...undeniably. Well, for the record... according to Mike Shannon, St. Louis has PROVEN year after year that they are TBFIB. Not my words...his. Although, Mike Shannon has also said... "I wish you folks back in St. Louis could see this moon." "Well, he did everything right to get ready for the throw, but if ya ain't got the hose, the water just won't come out." "Our next homestand follows this road trip." "I've heard it said that if you know English, Spanish, Italian, and I think it's French, you can go just about anywhere in this world...except China where they have all those derelicts."
  13. Elconq is really getting behind on his updates. I'll help  : J. Edmonds doubled to deep left center, A. Pujols and D. Eckstein scored. Damn...beat me to it.
  14. After the $35 ticket, you are still $9 in the hole. But you do have a couple days left.
