The Cubs suck. However, at 3-8, the Pirates suck even more. Think you can actually beat a team that has a worse record than you do? I didn't think so.

P.S. If the Cubs manage to win this one, I won't be able to start Saturday's game thread. You guys can fight over it.

Our pitcher is better and our offense is better (assuming ARam is back).

So naturally, we're going to lose.

Ramirez should be back on Friday. Jones will be out until Monday.

Not doubting you, but where did you hear this?

Pat & Ron on the pregame show today.

edit: maybe it was Kaplan, I'm not sure.

I saw it on cubs.com as well.

And it was mentioned by the beat reporter on the Score after the game today.

I really dont understand this team at all. One day they play like a 90 win team, the next day they play like the 2000 cubs. After sweeping the Cards you would think they have so much momentum that they would carry it over to the next series and duplicate what they did against the cardinals.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Victor Santos (Righty, 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA in 2006)

I really hope Ramirez is playing for sure.

Some things to note:

-Michael Barrett is 2/19

-Derrek Lee is 3/18 but with 2 of those hits being HRs.

-John Mabry is 1/7 with that hit a HR. Maybe thats why Dusty wants to give him the nod?

-Juan Pierre has a home run against Santos.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Pittsburgh Pirates) Vs. Sean Marshall (0-0 with a 8.31 ERA in 2006)

No Pirate has ever faced Marshall in the regular season.

I also just realized that, should we win tomorrow and Saturday, I will probably not be able to start Sunday's thread either.
