It sure felt like it last night. As has been said repeatedly in numerous threads, when Barrett hit the grand slam, the stadium completely erupted as we haven't seen since Woody's HR in game 7 for the NLCS. It doesn't get much better than sweeping a bitter rival at home and winning two close games in a row to do it. Those are games that we usually lose to the Cardinals and two days in a row we ended up victorious. I love it. This is why I'm a Cubs fan.

I thought the attention and intensity of the fans last night was playoff-like. It seemed everyone was into the game, making noise, supporting the team.

I wish it was a playoff game. It sure felt like it.

With that in mind, can anyone imagine how insane a playoff series between these two teams would be?

I *really* wanted (and expected) to see it in 04.

A Cubs-Cards NLCS would be the stuff of legend.

On a walk of grand slam by Barrett.

Now its up to dusty to get the cubs to play with that much intensity all summer long! Guillen did a good job with that last year for the Sox. It's what we're paying Dusty big bucks for..

I think that'd piss them off more than an Edmonds slam beating us.

Hell yeah!! It'd be my # 1 Cardinals hating moment, too!

Sort of like Sox-Yanks in 2003 and 2004. But in our case, 2004 would be the one we would want to follow since the Sox won.

The quicker they believe they can win w/out Wood and Prior, the better they will be. If they can remain around 1st place w/out Wood, Prior, and Miller, they'll be looking good as the season progresses. I just hope Dusty won't burn the pen out by July.

too many reliable pitchers for him to burn them out.

he trusts howry, eyre, williamson, ohman, and dempster COMPLETELY. And I'm sure he trusts Weurtz too based on last year.

He can't burn em all out. It's not like when we had the Farns and then Alfonseca and a bunch of rubbish.

As much as I hate Farnsworth, I'll admit that he had a couple good years with the Cubs in 2001 and 2003, but Alfonseca should be included as part of that rubbish. He flat out sucked in his two years with the Cubs.

He can't burn them all out, but he can burn them out to where it becomes a below avg. pen.
