Mark_R told me to take the spot start for him here, so this is a one and out for me. When we win, Mark_R will be back in duty.

The rookie, Sean Marshall http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/21/215637.jpg will make his first major league start as the Cubs take on Sidney Ponson, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v257/vance_the_cubs_fan/sidneyfatson3es.jpg aka the Fat Bastard.

This game is the ESPN national Sunday night broadcast, so I'm sure this genius-->http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/timannett/Morgan_Joe.jpg will impart many worthless platitudes on the Fat One and how Dave Duncan and TLR have helped him turn his career around. I guess his career would be easier to turn around than his "rear" because I'm sure to rotate something that size takes about the same about of time as it does one of Jupiter's moons to make a complete rotation.

While Marshall may have some jitters in his first start, Ponson has proven to be bad.

So...to get this thread rolling, here are five things that are equal to or nearly the same size as Ponson.

So, break out the brooms....I think we're going to sweep~

The Cards sweep their first series and get swept in their second series. Sounds good!

Great way to introduce them to new Busch!

Come on! (said ala Gob Bluth) That picture of Ponson has to be doctored.

it has to be. there's no way he is that overweight.

yeah, he's lost a few pounds.

he still carries the bottle to the mound, though

You guys haven't been to the rivalry forum lately, Vance likes to mess with Sidney.

In other news, Oswalt got charged with 5 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings tonight. The Astros then brought in Chad Qualls, who promptly gave up 4 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. The Nats are whooping the Astros 12-7 in the bottom of the 9th.

And that's the ballgame! Nats win 12-8! Always nice to see the Astros lose. With that loss, they fall a half game behind the Cubs in the standings.

Ponson is the epitome of suck. But he's a Cardinal, which means he'll be 16-7 with a 3.45 ERA this year.

Here's hoping Marshall keeps A-Jols hitless for the series.
