Yeah, I don't appreciate that I pay for this week while people get free access. It wouldn't bother me if I didn't have to see the "order MLB EI" flashing across the screen the entire game for every game I watch during the free week.

It's only scrolled across once or twice for me that I've noticed.

i'd settle for tv of any sort right now, instead of missing prison break 24, and the NCAA game all at once cuz charter is out for some reason.

I'm watching Houston and the Marlins on DirecTV and I haven't seen any prompts about subscribing. Maybe it's because I'm watching the actual MLB channel (742) for this game and not a free channel. Then again, I don't know that DirecTV offers a free week.

Does anybody know if I can order this package with just any old digital cable provider? Cause Decatur, IL isn't exactly a hotbed of technology.

With digital cable, you should be able to order it, but I think there's a chance your carrier might not provide it.

Bloody hell.

If there's a chance our carrier doesn't provide it, then it probably doesn't.

Insight is weak sauce.

I was speaking primarily from experiences from previous seasons. I only watched ESPN and WGN yesterday.

DirecTV is shady with EI. I had it last year but decided to skip it this year. They pulled the "we'll give it to you anyways and then if you don't want it, YOU have to cancel it or we'll charge you for it" routine. I didn't appreciate that.

My Insight (Kentucky) doesn't carry MLB E.I. either. I called and e-mailed and they said past interest didn't warrant carrying it again.

Looks like I'm internet radio-only again this year (aside from national t.v. games, that is.)

one free day is all I need to realize I can't get EI until retirement. I've been clicking back and forth between games for about 5 hours now.

I'll be enjoying the free week, as I am moving across the country in a couple of months and won't invest the $150 this year. I hope they have WGN in NoCal because then I'll be able to get every game with extra innings!

Charter is awful. It was out in my area during most of the '03 division series. i was new to stl and had no idea where to see the game, so I ended up at Applebee's every night.

If you have the Sports Pack and not EI, are the games shown on the FSN affiliates blacked out?

Yes, at least that was my experience last year. I purchased EI this year.

Yes, games are blacked out even if you have those stations. For instance, I have the sports pack and get Comcast Chicago. But I don't give a crap about the NBA so I'd never purchase the hoops package, and therefore, when a Bulls game is on CSN, it blacks out.

However, I have found that occasionally you'll get a random game that shows up even if you aren't a subscriber and it's out of your local area.
