I'm not even saying this just because of this game.. (or now, in light of that 3 run bomb he just gave up), and not to take anything away from Z, but I've always sort of laughed at the notion that Z was the best of our injury-depleted "Big 3"..

Prior and Wood are definitely better (those two huge qualifying words attached, of course)... Z is still awesome though...

No. Z has the single best pitch, even better than Wood's curve with that 95 mph sinker. He is healthy and a horse and can hit .300. I'd take him over Wood and Prior in a heartbeat.

Let's not get crazy here. If and when Prior is healthy he's the most domiate Cubs pitcher and one of the most dominate in the league.

Ow.

I hate leaving Gamecenter with a 4 run lead to do some work, then coming back only to find it's a 1 run lead.

Barrett nearly takes one out to right center, settles for a double. Edited by Rob

Yeah, that's not true.

When Prior is healthy, it's not close. Wood is a much closer call, admittedly.

The others haven't done what Zambrano has done. Healthy or not, Zambrano is the best. If you want to use the "Prior at his best" arguement, then sleep on this game and talk about "Zambrano at his best" as well.

This just in....Cubs offense has left early for the day.

Well let's see what happens past couple of years our offense had trouble putting teams away.

Not many ever thought Z was better than Prior, I think the debate was who was better between Wood and Z.

Thanks for supporting my side of the argument... but the word is "dominant".. Just a small pet peeve of mine..

Prior has command. Z and Wood have much filthier stuff.

Need some 'O'. Here's a question for everyone. Would you like one of these 'ban boxes' as your teams ballpark?? me i love pitching couldn't watch ball after ball fly out, give me a 1-0 win any time........

I think the expression you're looking for there is "band box"

A few years ago maybe, but Z is better now than he was when people first started ranking the big 3. He's the best of the 3.
