As near as I recall, the last time the CUBS got rained on during an openning day game in Cincinnati....... it was back in 1968 when Milt Pappas beat Joe Niekro and the CUBS 9-4 in old Crosley Field. Today would be a great day for some payback, no?

Were you at that game Fred?

No, but I saw the whole thing on good ol' WGN-TV.

your letting on your age now.....

My kids tell me I'm 3 days older than dirt..... but we all know how they lie !!

Nah, man. Dirt has got at least a week on you.

At least !!

[crack of the bat] WOW !!

Let's go !! ....... Batter up !!..... We're taking the afternoon off !!

It's a beautiful day for a ballgame,

For a ballgame today.

The fans are out to get a ticket or two,

From Walla Walla, Washington to Kalamazoo.

It's a beautiful day for a home run,

But even a triple's O.K.

We're gonna cheer.... and boo.... and raise a hulabaloo,

At the ballgame today.

Haha, MLB.TV has no blackout restriction on this game! I can watch it here locally on channel 9 (WGN) but I get to watch the Reds telecast live as well (Extra Innings IS restricted here).

I guess that explains the layer of dirt covering most of your body...the dirt must have formed around you. Maybe there's even a fossil of you somewhere?

Quick poll of those watching on WGN...

Who's gonna listen to Bob and Len, and who's gonna listen to Pat and Ron on the radio?

I've got the radio on and the sound turned down on the TV.

This team is so confusing. I really really like some parts of the roster.. and I *really* dislike other parts.

Time to start the 2006 championship season...

That time he fell down in that puddle of tree sap after running away from a dinosaur has to be around somewhere. ;)

Thanks to everyone who reposted line ups. While I'm not pleased with the Cubs offseason, I do think that's the best line up Dusty could put together.

I'll watch Len and Bob but the radio is nearby. I also have on the opposing team's call (I'm obsessive like that; I like all the angles).

I wonder what got into Dusty. He posted a decent lineup for a change.

I'd make 5/6/7 Barrett/Murton/Jones myself, but after some of the godawful Dusty lineups I've seen, I'm impressed.

Has he actually found some common sense, or is that Jim's influence?

You have no idea how hard it was to stay one step ahead of those dinosaurs when you were carrying your stone tablets to and from school.
