CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago CUBS announced Tuesday that Super Fan and NSBB Game Thread Stringer Fred Hornkohl has been placed on the 180 day disabled list, retroactive to 03 Dec 05 with adhesive capsulitis in both shoulders. An MRI Friday revealed no tears in the soft tissue in Fred's left shoulder, but the onset of arthiritis is indicated. The cause of the injury remains unkown, although the prognosis is good, and calls for rest and plenty of physical therapy. A cortisone shot was administered to the shoulder today. At this time, Fred is unable to throw a nerf ball as far as the TV across the room. No time table for his return has been set.

Not really news. Both Will Carroll and Steve Stone alerted me to this situation weeks ago, despite being blasted as "speculation" and "having no foundation in reality."

Wow, if starting an injury thread causes injuries, I suggest two new sticky threads:

- The Cardinals Injury Thread

and

- The Derwood wins Powerball Thread

Posted
Because the Cubs have been completely healthy without an injury thread.

Oh wait.....

There has been an injury thread all spring, but management has denied its existence.

Fixed.

Seriously..I burned my finger on the heating element of my dish washer two days ago. The range of motion in my left index finger is very limited, but I'm going to do some soft typing with a towel over my hand for the remainder of this week. This was a freak injiry, IMO....shouldn't be considered injury prone just yet. Edited by fiver

This thread should cease immediately.

Can someone explain to me why? Is there a rule or something?

Because there are too many anal retentive posters here....rules rules rules. I also notice that if you are not a regular poster your opinion means nothing to most. This is simply an observation so save the back talk. I'm not trying to start anything here.

Updating earlier reports, NSBB forum doctor Tommy John has announced that Fred is scheduled to start a simulated thread within the next two weeks.

That is if he has no pain doing the towel drill. One step at a time.

I didn't realized NSBB was the reason for all the injuries last year. If Zambrano & Lee get injured, this site should be removed from the internet. ;)

Nobody knows yet.

Even if it's small, it could be a nagging problem that effects his performance.

This is the Cubs, only major injuries happen to our key players. If it was Neifi or Macias last year it would have been the equivalent of hangnail, but I'm guessing Lee's shoulder is about to fall off.

I hit my knee on the coffee table pretty hard the other day.

And my arm was a little sore last week after throwing at the ESPNZone speedpitch thing. (Which by the way is so cool, even though Griffey took me yard.)

My friends from Boston did that when they were up here, but they just spent the entire time throwing the ball at Jeter and ARod's head.

But no, I'm the guy that got drunk and randomly screamed at the field during the Jason jennings game last May.

Tell me this...is it the thread title that causes the injuries, or just talking about injuries in the first place?

Because if that's the case, we should just call the thread

THE PERFECT HEALTH THREAD

And then talk about injuries in there 8)
