I don't care how good or many K's he has in the minors he hasn't come close to the same results in the big.

dude, he's pitched like 20 major league innings. are you serious?

And let's not forget Hill is 26 years old. He's not a kid anymore.

he went to college. and he jumped three levels last year. come on.

If Walker plays 1st and Baker likes him there, that won't help Sing or any other 1st/OF in any way as that will give Grissom the spot in the OF since the Cubs would have a backup 1st baseman in Walker.

XM says it's airing the other half of the Angels split squad, which might mean the socal radio is actually broadcasting that game, and not the Cubs game.

Yeah, this was not cool. I don't care about the A's-Angels. I'm not pleased that the LA Times lied to me with their schedule - I planned my lunch break around listening to the game.

I was at the game. Hill struggled as mentioned, giving up four runs in two innings (including three runs on back-to-back jacks in the 2nd). It should be mentioned, however, that there was a fairly strong wind blowing out. And he did strike out four in two innings. Eyre was the pitcher who impressed me the most, with a 1-2-3 9th to pick up the save.

Offensively, what impressed me most was the continuing patience of the Cubs' hitters. I lost track of how many walks they took, but it was a bunch. Most impressive was taking four straight walks (Walker, Jones, Grissom, and Mabry) with two out in the first to score a run with no hits and tie the game 1-1 at the time. The winning run scored when McGehee got a hit to drive in Murton.

I took a bunch of pictures at the game and will post some once I've had a chance to edit them and weed out the bad ones.

Box Score

Kinda sucks that you can't see which players combined for eight walks on the Cubs, though.

the box at yahoo has it.

Jock (2), Mabry, Grissom, Walker, Soto, Murton, Moore.

looks like the Cubs are doing everything they can to show Wellemeyer has some value, and Wellemeyer is doing everything he can to show he doesn't.

How did Brownlie look? Velocity?

How did Brownlie look? Velocity?
I thought he looked pretty good (although he did give up one walk). However, I'm not good at estimating velocity, so I can't say anything about that.
