Prior delayed again

I have no idea what they could be hiding, it hard to believe that Prior is being impacted by a severe cold from last December.

 

Whatever is wrong with him, if they're being overly cautious, it is a step in the right direction.

Today's Sun-Times blurb stated that the Cubs are leaning towards another simulated game rather than him making an ST start, but they still insist he'll be ready for April 5th.

 

 

Have the Cubs won the simulated WS yet? Over the last two seasons with Wood and Prior going every game they've probably had a good chance to do so.

 

The Cubs are 35-11 in simulated games over the last two years. JoBo and Rusch haven't held up their end of the rotation. Still 24 games over 500 is pretty nice.

 

35-11 is real nice, quite probably leading the NL Central, may in fact, be the NL's best record.

Lee dove and appeared to hurt his wrist in a WBC game the other day. But he shook it off and kept playing.

On the bright side, there might not be anything wrong with either guy. Soreness might not mean anything major... I'm going to reserve my panic for the Dr's diagnosis.

LOL, just reporting what I heard. It freaked me out initally but I'm not ready to jump yet. I want to find out if there is a real problem or just some regular discomfort. The Cubs might be taking the extra cautious road here for both players.

After the strange way he's been handled all spring, there's no way he's completely okay. Shoulder soreness, especially for a guy who has pretty much been babied for the last five months, is a serious issue.

 

He's been hurt all along. Healthy pitchers aren't treated like he was. This is absurd, and it's an insult to Cubs fans everywhere.

IIRC, Prior has had some discomfort every season to start the year. He could just be one of those guys who needs to ease into throwing (in a different manner than most other pitchers). Maybe he's hypersensitive to pain.

That was what, two weeks ago? Something like that. That would mean the Cubs have had him pitch in bullpen sessions and a simulated game (would be two if he continued today) with pain in his shoulder. Carroll was also quite wrong about the towel drill.

 

Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow what's up.
