I wouldn't mind a bit more speed, but I can probably find a bit of that in trade somewhere down the line. Health is my huge red flag. If everyone's healthy, we win more than we lose.

16 teams and I had like the 8th pick. I think I picked Young in the first round because the way the Comisioner had it set up (right before draft time) your roster was 2 players at each position and like 1 bench player. This was later changed, but I put a premium on SS because I felt if I was going to have to have 2 I better get a good one due to possitional scarcity. Then we switched back to a regular roster after the draft *sigh*. Kinda messed up some of my draft strategy but I still feel like I came out OK.

Holy cow, that's a lot of DL potential.

Yep, I was in 3 leagues last year and had times like that. I got 2nd in 2 of the leagues, and all my players got hurt in the other league and I finished 9th.

I love my team considering I drafted at the end of the round:

C: Mauer

1B: Helton

2B: Utley

SS: F. Lopez

3B: Wright

OF: Dunn

OF: Francoeur

OF: Baldelli

Util: Beltre

BN: Taveras

BN: Shawn Green

SP: Halladay

SP: Felix Hernandez

RP: Guardado

RP: Reitsma

P: Lowe

P: Millwood

P: Cain

P: Liriano

On the surface, the P could look kinda weak, but the highest ERA was Liriano at almost 6 (which is really strange given a 1.1 WHIP, small sample, but yea) and the next lowest was Reitsma sub 4. Highest WHIP was 1.23 for Reitsma.

I don't see it.

Well, your only exceptional offensive players at their positions are A-rod and Bonds if hes healthy and age doesn't catch up to him. On my first team Helton, Figgins, Wright, Abreu, and possibly Lopez could be considered top 5 at their respective positions, and my other players are pretty well rounded. On my second team the same can be said of Pujols, Figgins, and possibly Berkman and Lopez, with more power than my first team but less speed.

Pitching wise you probably beat both my staffs. Almost everyone expects Carpenter to regress somewhat but he'll still be good, and Peavy is a stud. Your relief pitching is somewhat shaky, relying on two guys who were hurt last year, though I do expect Gagne, if healthy, to dominate. You also get more wins from your other pitchers. The top two on my first team are very injury prone but could be dang good if healthy. On my second team I think Oswalt and Big Z could be just as good as Carpenter and Peavy. Relief wise on my teams, I tried to get one young reliable guy, one guy who could be good if healthy (Benitez, like you), and one young unknown.

All in all, while I might be a little biased, I feel both my teams are more well rounded than yours. I think both of my offenses beat your offense hands down, while your pitching staff edges mine, but not by as large of a gap as the offense. Hence, the "I think both my teams could take yours" quote.

Have you looked at Helton's #s from last season. He didn't even start on anyone's team in our league the second half of last season.

Wow, he had a great second half. Whoever had him and didn't start him is not too smart.

wtg guys, I start the thread to see if I have a good team and you guys ruin it before I get any criticism or praise. All your teams suck, mine is awesome.

TT, I think your offense is pretty average, while the pitching is very good.

Lack a lot of power.

It looks like an all around solid team. Your outfield does seem a little weak however. I'm not a fan of Jenkins or Burrell.
