Not only is KC the only team in the AL Central that we don't play, but we also play three more road games than home in interleague play. (9 road. 6 home, including road series against the best three teams in the division)

The Cards get 6 against KC, don't have to play the Twins, and get the Indians at home.

Thanks, Bud.

We play like crap against the poor teams anyways and fairly well against the better teams. This could be a blessing in disguise.

That was the case in 05', 06' is a different year.

Really? Seems like that's been the case throughout the Baker era. I don't look for much change this season.

Even longer than that... I remember years where we would do really well against division leaders (ATL, SF, etc) and then get killed by the bottom feeders. Of course, they insisted the Cubs were better and just "played down to their level." Yeah, and got their butts handed to them often.

This doesn't change the fact that the Cardinals get their yearly 6 with the Royals.

The Cards and Royals have not done a home/away series for a number of years. The Cards have played at KC the past two seasons.

My fault... I guess I supposed that they did a home/away since we always do with our rival White Sox. Plus my brother and dad (Cardinal fans  ) have gone to KC to catch the series the past 2 years so again I figured again that they had 6 a year.

Is whining about the schedule going to change it? KC doesn't lay down for the Cards just like bad teams don't lay down for the Cubs. From what I have seen, most teams gun for both the Cubs and the Cards.

Don't I also remember the Cubs playing the Orioles and the D Rays a few years ago when the Cards had to play the Yankees and Red Sox on the road?

Yeah, but this is like the 3rd year in a row, where the schedule has been lopsided in the Cards favor. Of course, not like the Cubs had the talent to do anything about it.

Looking at the breakdown of both teams, I would be worrying more about the Astros splits. The Cards have 6hm and 10 rd and the Cubs have 6hm and 9 rd games against them.

Can't wait for that annual stretch where the Cards get to play the Royals and we get the White Sox.

Always works out well to hand the division to the Cards.

Love that unbalanced schedule!!

I'm not thrilled about it either, but the last 2 seasons the difference between the Cubs and Cardinals has been far more than that interleague series.

We know the Rawlings Co,(based out of Stl) shows bias toward Cardinal players for the GG awards. (see J.Edmonds & M.Matheny in 04') Do they also make MLB's schedules?

Is my sarcasm detector broken, or are you serious?
